What is BOLD Lip?

Bold~Lip is a type of cosmetic tattooing that semipermanently enhances lip color by depositing the maximum amount of colored ink into the lips with a mechanical needle. The resulting lip tattoo is Bold and saturated with pigment.

Using multiple needle and a quick, consistent hand motion. As the needle goes in and out of the machine, penetrating the skin to get a full deposit of pigment.

The resulting tattoo, which typically lasts for 2 to 5 years, imbues lips with a flattering color, like a stain or bold lipstick. After getting this procedure, you can still wear lipsticks and lip colors to switch up your look, if you like—but many vibrant~lip clients are happy to go without lip makeup, just gloss and go.

  • Fuller-looking lips without need for injectables or surgery

  • Enhanced lip symmetry

The Process.

  • First, your I will create a one-of-a-kind shade for your lips based on your desired look.

  • ~ As a professional makeup artist, I work with you to create your perfect custom shade."

I often suggests a "lighter version" as darker is always achievable.  If you have medium or dark skin with cool undertones, I  may first apply a "vibrant orange pigment" to neutralize your natural lip color and make the shade of your dreams possible. See Lip-Lightning.

  • If you want a softer wash of color, you may need to manage your expectations," Vibrant-Lip is bold and noticeable.  ( if your looking for soft  color you will want to choose Lip~Blushing.

  • After your lip color is selected,  I will map out your lip with a white pencil to line your desired shape. Then, a topical numbing cream will be applied to your lips for 20/30 min.

  • After the numbing cream takes effect, we will begin implanting the pigment into your lips using a mechanical needle. You'll feel a light stippling sensation on your lips as the procedure is preformed. A numbing liquid is used during the procedure to keep you comfortable and pain free.

  • From start to finish, the procedure takes about an hour and a half. Right after your appointment, your lips will appear larger and much darker than they will look in their healed state. The healed color will appear about 30 to 50% lighter than the initial results.

A perfecting session is booked after your first appointment, about 4-6 weeks post-procedure and is required to achieve your lip goals.

"Multiple sessions may be required on darker toned lips due to neutralizing, lightening or even out the overall tone of your lips.
